Privacy notice

This privacy notice explains the processing of personal data on rimionship.com.

1. Controller

We process personal data in particular for the following purposes:

  • provision and operation of the website
  • execution and handling of tournaments
  • communication with participants and support
  • IT security and abuse prevention

Legal bases include in particular:

  • Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent, where required)
  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract / pre-contractual measures)
  • Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (legal obligation)
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests)

3. Categories of processed data

Depending on usage, we process in particular:

  • contact data (e.g. email for support requests)
  • Twitch account data within account linking (e.g. Twitch name, Twitch ID)
  • tournament-related data (e.g. results, timestamps, assignment to participants)
  • technical usage data (e.g. server logs, IP address, timestamp, user agent)

The following notes apply to all tournaments we organize. Linking a Twitch account is mandatory for participation.

  • Winner notification and prize delivery are carried out via Twitch messaging (direct messages/whispers).
  • An email address is not required for prize delivery.
  • Where separate storage is not required, we do not store additional email data solely for prize delivery.

Public high score / ranking display

As part of game and tournament operations, we provide public high score/ranking pages on the website. This may include the selected display name (username/pseudonym), rank, score/points and the time of the latest update.

The display is made for tournament execution, result transparency and safeguarding competitive integrity. Legal bases are Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of participation-related obligations) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a transparent public ranking).

Where processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you have the right to object under Art. 21 GDPR.

5. Recipients and processors

Data is transferred only where necessary, in particular to:

  • technical service providers (hosting, infrastructure, monitoring)
  • platform/function providers required for operation (e.g. Twitch, Discord)
  • authorities/courts where legally required

6. Storage period

Personal data is stored only for as long as necessary for the respective purposes or where statutory retention obligations apply.

7. Data subject rights

Under GDPR, you have in particular the right to:

  • access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • objection (Art. 21 GDPR)
  • withdraw consent with effect for the future

8. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In Austria, this is in particular the Austrian Data Protection Authority:
