The bar door opens. ADAM CHAMPION, now wearing his blue marine armor, and steps through. He pauses briefly in the doorway, turns slightly to the side, and leaves the bar with a short, sighing “Oh well…” The camera follows the closing door, gliding with it back into the room—straight toward the bartender, who is already beginning to stack the chairs of the rear seating area next to the dartboard.
From off-screen, the shrill voice of ADAM’s opponent can be heard, still sitting at the chessboard. His gaze is blank and disturbed before he suddenly swings his head around.
??? (o.s.):
„Hey, Purzi… where’s Chillie anyway? Anyone know where she is? “_
PURZI THE BARTENDER shrugs as he keeps stacking chairs.
PURZI THE BARTENDER:
„After the last escalation, Phoebe wanted to take it easy for a few days, Randy.“_
Randy Random (o.s.):
„Ahh, I see……“
His tone changes. Then he bursts into completely inappropriate, shrill laughter that echoes through the bar.
Cut to the counter. The MAD SCIENTIST is still slumped over his glass, his goggles askew. Suddenly he jerks upright, raises a finger, and shouts euphorically:
MAD SCIENTIST:
„But my time will come! At any time!”
But immediately he collapses again. The focus shifts briefly to the wall behind him until CASSANDRA’s picture comes back into sharp focus. Then PURZI steps into frame, nudges the MAD SCIENTIST lightly, shakes his own head, and says dryly:
PURZI THE BARTENDER:
„You know… we’re about to close.”
The camera now pulls back, moving through the colorful stained-glass window of the bar to the outside. Along the way, it takes in the entire scene once more - figures, cards, dice - all lying chaotically scattered. One corner of the game board is blackened and crusted, as if a small explosion had occurred there. RANDY RANDOM sits before it, his gaze blank, disturbed and clutching his left shoulder—because the arm is missing. From outside, the full view of the bar is seen. The neon sign “PANTHEON” glows faintly. Randy’s laughter echoes until it fades into darkness.
CUT TO BLACK.
Then, as a dedication to the reader/viewer/listener, the text appears:
„Thank you for accompanying me through this story.“
